Ad Ideas for April: Health

World Health Day has been celebrated every April 7 since 1948. According to its sponsor, the World Health Organization (WHO), World Health Day is celebrated to create “awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organization (WHO)”.

Each year the WHO selects a theme, and in 2011 it is antimicrobial resistance, which in essence means the increasing resistance of bacterial infections that are becoming resistant to “first-line” drugs.

Generally, World Health Day is recognized as an important reminder of all things health-related, and a good time to reach out to your health related businesses for tips such as eating healthy, drug education, health and fitness tips, and mental and physical health information.

Ad/Promotion Ideas:

  • Design a signature ad touting “total wellness”, including local physicians, dentists, fitness clubs and health food stores
  • Offer “guest articles” and special ad rates for those in the health and wellness field
  • Create a special section on family health, including health tips for moms, kids and busy families
  • Invite advertisers to offer specials on their services and create a “Get Healthy for Less” signature ad.
