The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is an organization deeply integrated into our culture, and on February 8, we are celebrating its 100th anniversary. The BSA’s Volunteer Outcomes Study has shown that being a member or volunteer with the Scouts makes people better employees and citizens. By creating a celebratory section, you will give advertisers the opportunity to show their support of community values.

Ad/Promotion Ideas:
• Design a special section featuring picture guides to knots and badges. Include maps of local marked trails.
• Build an ad series featuring hiking and camping safety tips or tips on how to start a local Scouts chapter.
• Publish a weekly or daily sponsored entry from readers lasting all month with stories about their favorite activities, events or memories from Boy Scouts.
• Create a contest to discover the oldest Boy Scout alum in your community. Encourage readers to send in pictures of themselves, their fathers, brothers, etc.

Businesses to Contact:
• Hardware stores
• Sports or outdoor activities stores
• Apparel printers
• Local Boy Scouts chapters
• Park districts
• Bike shops
• Local businesses with strong community involvement

Share your experiences!
