Get Ready for Reunions in the Summer

Many family and class reunions are held in the summer. According to the Travel Industry Association, one in five U.S. adults has attended a family reunion in the last year. With the amount of detail that goes into planning reunions (food, entertainment, etc.), a wide range of advertisers can appeal to reunion planners and attendees.

Ad Campaigns/Promotional Ideas:
• Develop a special section for reunions (both family and class) that includes topics such as budgeting, activities, themes, potential sites to host at and reunion success stories.
• Host a “Wackiest Reunion Story” contest. The winner could receive a gift certificate for their next reunion from one of your advertisers. Tie this into your Web site by posting a video blog of reunion clips submitted by readers.

Businesses to Contact:
• Caterers, bakeries, restaurants that deliver/carry-out
• Sporting goods stores/outdoor activity stores
• Specialty gift stores, embroidery stores
• Printing companies, sign shops
• Camera stores, photo labs
• Grocery stores, butchers, specialty food stores, grilling product stores
• Travel agents, airlines, bus companies, hotels
• Banquet/party facilities
• Parks and forest preserves
• Music and entertainment services
• Alcohol/beverage distributors
• Resorts, casinos and theme parks
• Grilling product stores
• Party supply and rental stores, party planners
• Photographers, videographers
• Cleaning services, carpet cleaners, home improvement stores (if hosted at one’s home)
